Sweet pickle means different things to different people in different parts of the world, in England it tends to refer to a scrumptious mixture of vegetables crafted into a chutney-like treat. We were determined that when we created our sweet pickle we wanted one where you could see the lovely ingredients not for them to disappear into a brown mushy mass.
Nor did we want our pickle to have anything but the best of English veg in it so we stuck to a traditional vegetable plot harvest - crunchy swede, carrots, cauliflowers and onions. We spice these favourites to perfection to create a dark tempting sweetness with a tangy after taste. Perfect for dolloping onto a traditional Ploughman’s, or added to sandwiches, or to accompany cold meats, cheese pies and quiches.
